A-T Solutions, Inc., yesterday said it has acquired Innovative Technology Systems, Inc. (ITS), an information technology (IT) firm serving the intelligence community, DoD and other government agencies.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A-T Solutions said the deal expands its capabilities to service customers in the intelligence community by providing it with more breadth of IT solutions. The company, which is based in Northern Virginia, provides a range of counter-terrorism technology and training solutions to its customers in the federal government as well as state and local law enforcement agencies, first responders and foreign governments.

Prior to 2009, A-T Solutions was mainly focused in the areas of counter-improvised explosive device training and mission support. In 2009, the company acquired two small firms in the IT and consulting areas, helping it branch out from its roots in training services.

Colorado-based ITS provides technology services in the areas of mission systems, software engineering and development, network services and mission assurance. The company’s customers include the Director of National Intelligence, the National Reconnaissance Office, the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency and other government agencies.

ITS has 60 employees, most of whom hold high-level security clearances. ITS’s financial adviser on the deal was Raymond James.

A-T Solutions is a portfolio company of the private equity firm Covant.
