Accenture [ACN] said yesterday that it has agreed to acquire MAXIM Systems, an engineering an technical services firm supporting the Defense Department.
Terms of the deal, which is expected to close within 30 days, were not disclosed. San Diego, Calif.-based MAXIM has 135 employees. The company specializes in the design, development, installation and support of C4ISR systems for military and intelligence agencies.
Accenture said the deal will expand its defense practice, particularly in the area of C4ISR, a key growth area for the company.
MAXIM supports the Navy on Ultra High Frequency satellite related programs and it supports the Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System, a secure wide area network that allows the United States and more than 30 coalition nations to share intelligence and other operational information necessary to unify efforts, Accenture said.
