The private equity firm AE Industrial Partners (AEI) on Monday said it has made “a significant equity and debt investment” in Fire Team Solutions, which provides technology services to the intelligence community and Defense Department.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed and AEI declined to answer any questions about the deal beyond what was in its press release.
Fire Team, which is based in Northern Virginia and is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business, provides secure cloud architecture and analytics, software development and automation, systems engineering and integration, and information technology project management to its customers. Fire Team was founded in 2017 by Nicholas Harscher, president and CEO, who will continue to lead the company.
“We’re eager to support Nick and his team as they continue to develop state of the art technology solutions that seek to combat constantly evolving security threats and better enable customers to harness the intelligence from their data,” Kirk Konert, a partner at AEI, said in a statement.
The McLean Group served as financial adviser to Fire Team.
The investment in Fire Team came the same day that AEI sold its portfolio company, Gryphon Technologies, a systems engineering company serving DoD, to ManTech International [MANT].
