The Air Force has extended for two years its network information technology (IT) contract with its eight prime contractors as it continues to piece together a follow-on to the NETCENTS contract.
The Air Force awarded the potential $9 billion multiple-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity NETCENTS contract in 2004. The prime vendors on NETCENTS are The CenTech Group, Booz Allen Hamilton [BAH], General Dynamics [GD], Harris Corp. [HRS], Lockheed Martin [LMT], NCI, Inc. [NCIT] Northrop Grumman [NOC], and Telos Corp.
The Air Force had planned to award contracts for NETCENTS 2 in 2009. Under the extension, the Air Force will be able to continue ordering hardware, software and systems solutions through September 2012 with work to be completed by September 2014. The ceiling value on NETCENTS was not raised with the extension.
