The Army on Monday awarded AM General a $373 million contract to provide 2,082 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (Humvees) to foreign military sale (FMS) partner nations, according to a Defense Department statement.
The deal is a firm-fixed-price, multi-year arrangement with options. The contract also includes contractor-unique spare parts. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Afghanistan, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Ukraine and Tunisia will receive HMMWVs as part of the contract.
Humvees have been in production since 1985.
