The Army’s Guardian program plans to contract with industry for a Battlefield Anti-Intrusion System (BAIS) that would be a compact, sensor-based early warning system that is used by small tactical units for force protection and situational awareness missions. The system includes, at a minimum, a handheld monitor, sensors, cables and a carrying case. So far the Army has fielded 1,800 BAIS out of a total requirement of about 8,100 systems. The procurement will be a full and open competition for a potential three-year, $92.4 million contract. Sol. No. W911QY09R0066. Respond by April 30, 2010.
