VT Group yesterday said it has acquired Evergreen Unmanned Systems, extending the company’s aviation support capabilities into the growing market for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

VT Group is the United States-based division of the British engineering services firm Babcock International. Babcock acquired VT Group in March (Defense Daily, March 25). Evergreen Unmanned Systems is part of Evergreen International Aviation, Inc.

“Over the next 10 years, the UAS market is on pace to more than double, representing significant opportunities for companies with the right capabilities,” David Dacquino, VT Group’s CEO, said in a statement. “By combining VG Group’s extensive aviation support experience with Evergreen Unmanned Systems’ capabilities and performance record, we can offer an enhanced capability in this developing market.”

Evergreen has supported the Boeing [BA] ScanEagle UAS, with more than 10,000 hours of flight time operating the aircraft. Services include training, logistics, operations, payload integration and testing for government and commercial customers. The company has also supported Prioria Robotics’ Maveric single-man portable UAS.

VT Group supports aviation missions in the areas of maintenance, training, logistics and program analysis. The company has supported the Army Aviation and Missile Command for several helicopter programs.
