Britain’s BAE Systems on Monday said that Tom Arseneault, the chief operating officer (COO) of its United States-based company BAE Systems, Inc., will take on the additional role of president of the division’s Electronic Systems sector on Jan. 1, 2015.
Arseneault will succeed Dan Gobel, the current president of BAE Systems, Inc.’s Electronic Systems sector, who is retiring from the company on Dec. 31.
“During his tenure, the company has benefited from Dan’s stewardship, passion for our customers’ mission, commitment to our people, and extensive knowledge and experience,” Jerry DeMuro, president and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc., said in a statement. “Arseneault’s appointment allows the company to leverage his years of leadership experience with Electronic Systems and its legacy businesses while preserving the essential skills he brings to the COO role.”
Arseneault will remain a member of BAE Systems plc’s Executive Committee.
Gobel became president of the U.S. division’s Platform Solutions sector in 2010 and then took over as chief of the Electronic Systems sector when it took in the Platform business in 2011. At the time of the consolidation, Arsenault become executive vice president for Product Sectors and chief technology officer of BAE Systems, Inc.
