BAE Systems yesterday said Tom Arseneault has been appointed executive vice president, Product Sectors and chief technology officer. Larry Prior, who currently serves as executive vice president, Service Sectors, has been named chief operating officer for BAE Systems Inc.
“Both Tom and Larry are proven and trusted leaders, and I look forward to partnering with them in their new roles to further improve our performance, leverage our remarkable people and capabilities, and maximize our cost-competitiveness to satisfy our customers’ needs for affordable technologies and capabilities,” said Linda Hudson, president and CEO, BAE Systems Inc.
Arseneault most recently served as president of BAE Systems’ Electronic Systems sector, one of the four sectors that comprise BAE Systems Inc. As executive vice president, Product Sectors, he succeeds Bob Murphy, who left in May to become CEO of Britain’s Cobham effective June 22 (Defense Daily, April 24).
In the newly created role as chief technology officer for BAE Systems Inc., Arseneault will oversee research and development and the application of technology to meet customers’ ever-changing needs and help generate timely, cost-effective solutions.
Since joining BAE Systems in 2010, Prior has helped increase the company’s cyber and intelligence businesses and improved readiness and sustainment services for defense customers. Prior had previously been president and chief operating officer of ManTech International (Defense Daily, July 21, 2010). In his expanded role as the new chief operating officer, he will drive operational productivity, agility, cost efficiency and effectiveness throughout the business, which remains critical to BAE Systems’ future success during a time of shifting priorities in the United States and across global defense and security markets.
Arseneault also joins Prior and Hudson as members of the BAE Systems’ Executive Committee.
