BCF Solutions, Inc., has acquired the RedBlack Communications business unit from Ultralife Corp. [ULBI], doubling its manufacturing capacity and adding new customers and capabilities in communications and electronics systems integration.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Maryland-based BCF said that RedBlack, which has 30 employees, would add $5.3 million to its annual sales. RedBlack’s management will remain with the company.
RedBlack, which is based in Maryland, provides engineering for technical and logistical services for facilities, mobile platforms and portable systems. Its main customers include the Department of Defense, Special Operations Command, the Department of Homeland Security, the White House Communications Agency, and the State Department.
“RedBlack brings to BCF new Navy and intelligence customers, with a facility in close proximity to the Naval Air Systems Command” in Patuxent, Md., Chand Gupta, BCF’s CEO said in a statement. “RedBlack’s fixed security solutions complement our mobile and tactical solutions and its installation capabilities enable customers to one-stop shop for an end-to-end solution.”
Gupta also said that BCF’s line-of-sight communications experience will be bolstered by RedBlack’s satellite communications capabilities.
Virginia-based BCF is a professional services firm in the areas of acquisition and program management.
The McLean Group served as Ultralife’s financial adviser on the deal.
