Bell Helicopter Textron [TXT] delivered seven Bell 429 helicopters to the Swdish National Police that have entered into service, the company said May 18.
Sweden is using the rotorcraft for law enforcement, search and rescue, and mountain rescue.
The Bell 429 includes a fully-integrated glass cockpit, advanced drive system, best-in-class WAAS navigation, and IFR capability, the company said. It also has cabin space seating for seven passengers and one flight crew.
“This is now the largest Bell 429 fleet in operation in the European Union. Customers in Europe have shown great interest in the Bell 429 for law enforcement [and search and rescue] operation,” Jakub Hoda, Bell Helicopter managing director for Europe and Russia, said in a statement.
“Over a quarter of the Bell 429s in service across Europe today are flying parapublic missions, demonstrating the superior performance of the Bell 429,” Hoda added.
Other recent Bell 429 police force deliveries include 15 helicopters to the Turkish National Police, four to the New York Police Department, and the first of two units to the Slovakian Police.
The Bell 429 continues to gain customers in police forces around the world. Bell Helicopter has recently delivered 15 Bell 429s to the Turkish National Police, four Bell 429s to the New York Police Department, and the first of two Bell 429s to the Slovakian Police.
