The Army’s Biometrics Task Force (BTF) has selected 12 firms, which is all those that bid, for a potential $497 million in indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity awards under the Biometrics Operations and Support Services Unrestricted (BOSS-U) program. The companies are CACI International [CAI], Telos Corp., Booz Allen Hamilton, Cogent [COGT], Science Applications International Corp. [SAI], American Systems Corp., Northrop Grumman [NOC], Ideal Innovations (I-3), Computer Sciences Corp. [CSC], Lockheed Martin [LMT], Raytheon [RTN], and Electronic Data Systems, which is part of Hewlett Packard [HPQ].The BOSS-U acquisition establishes a suite of ID/IQ contract for biometrics support services that will enable BTF businesses and program units to accomplish their mission objectives. Functional service areas include: Management Support Services; Infrastructure Procurement Design, Development and Integration; Operations and Maintenance; Advanced Technology Demonstration; Studies and Analysis; and Test and Evaluation. Specific requirements will be defined at the task order level. The contract has a three-year base period and two one-year options. I-3, a veteran-owned firm, points to its experience on a number of biometrics programs for the Army including support for the BTF, the Next Generation Automated Biometric Identification System, the Biometric Identification System for Access, and Tactical Biometric Systems.
