Boeing [BA] yesterday said it has completed its acquisition of Tapestry Solutions, giving it new capabilities in real-time logistics visibility and logistics modeling and simulation.
The acquisition is part of Boeing’s strategy to expand in the supply chain and logistics command and control markets.
The Tapestry deal was announced in September. Last month Boeing said it had agreed to acquire Federated Software Group, an engineering and software services firm that helps the Defense Department track and distribute equipment and personnel. Both companies will operate within Boeing Integrated Defense Systems’ Global Services & Support unit.
Tapestry’s services and software systems improve the tracking and distribution of equipment, spare parts and personnel for DoD and other government and non-government agencies. Federated is the integrator for several command and control systems used to track military equipment, cargo and people in various operations.
