The Department of Defense (DoD) awarded Booz Allen Hamilton [BAH] a nearly $326 million ceiling cost-plus-award-fee task order to provide secure and reliable Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) operations globally in support of the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization (JIDO), the department said Monday.

JIDO’s mission is to enable the department’s actions to counter improvised threats with tactical responsiveness and through anticipatory, rapid acquisition in support of combatant commands’ efforts to prepare for and adapt to battlefield surprises/ This covers support of counter-terrorism, counter-insurgency, and other related mission areas that include counter-improved explosive devices (IEDs).

The task order was originally awarded on Feb. 10 and falls under the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Alliant contract. The task order specifically enables rapid aggregation, fusion, and dissemination of operational information. Intelligence, and technology to respond to emerging threats, the DoD said.

Booz Allen will provide the DevOps-enabled path to production for JIDO mission IT capabilities; leverage DoD and intelligence community enterprise services, and deliver IT capabilities in response to combatant commands, the intelligence community, military service partner organizations, and other DoD/federal agencies.

The task order was a competitive acquisition with two offers received. Joint IED defeat funds plus other agency/department contributions of $2.6 million were obligated at award time. Work will mostly be performed in Virginia and the National Capital Region but contractor personnel will be embedded as needed with internationally-deployed U.S. forces.

The expected completion date is March 5, 2022.

The award announcement said EIT is part of the JIDO Enterprise Acquisition Strategy Initiative which intends to meet current and evolving mission requirements; comply with acquisition laws/regulations/policies; and, improve mission effectiveness, output, and organizational synergy. 

The contracting activity is the GSA Federal Systems Integration and Management Center in support of JIDO.
