The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) awarded Boundless a $36 million contract to support the agency’s geospatial intelligence services and purchases services, the company said Tuesday
These services are needed to package, deliver, maintain, and patch accredited open source geospatial software packages.
The company’s primary offering is an open geographic information system (GIS) that provides enterprises with intelligence and insights using location-based data, Boundless said. Their platform is specifically built on open source technology and open application programming interfaces that generate actionable location intelligence across third-party apps, content services, and plugins for enterprise applications.
“It is great to see an organization like NGA adopting open source GIS,” Andy Dearing, CEO of Boundless, said in a statement.
“This announcement further demonstrates the NGA’s commitment to Boundless and we are excited to continue our work with the agency,” he added.
