G4S Government Solutions, Inc., has received a $94.3 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Protective Service, to provide armed protective security officer services throughout Michigan.

MRIGlobal has received a potential five-year, $4 million contract from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for prepared biological samples in a variety of sample matrices to be used for validation of Laboratory Response Network assays. The samples will be used as part of the LRN proficiency testing program, which is designed to simulate real world scenarios involving potential bioterrorism agents. MRIGlobal is a non-for-profit organization that conducts contract research for government and industry.

Implant Sciences Corp. [IMSC] has received a contract from a customer in Saudi Arabia to provide 11 handheld Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 explosive trace detectors for critical infrastructure protection. The systems will be used in a multi-layered security environment. Separately, the company says that its QS-H150s and QS-B220 benchtop explosives trade detectors were deployed for checkpoint screening to protect honored guests who attended the birthday celebration of England’s Queen Elizabeth II at the British Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Implant’s Bahrain-based distributor, Building Defence Systems, facilitated the screening.
