Smiths Detection has received a six month, $2.5 million contract extension from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Protective Service for the continued leasing and maintenance of X-Ray systems. The agency says that 90 percent of its screening posts have Smiths’ X-Ray systems. A follow-on acquisition effort to provide a DHS-wide solution for X-Ray systems is underway. DHS says its Strategic Sourcing Office needs more time to refine its procurement approach for the strategically-sourced X-Ray effort.

[LLL] has received a $1.4 million task order from the Transportation Security Administration to provide eight eXaminer 6700 medium-speed Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) as part of recapitalization efforts at Dulles International Airport in Northern Virginia. The recapitalization effort is replacing existing eXaminer MSEDS that are at the end of their useful life.
Alutiq 3SG, LLC, has received a $1.1 million contract from the State Department to provide biometric enrollment and verification kiosks, which will be donated to the government of Mexico. The contract meets a requirement of the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement with the U.S. Embassy in Mexico.
