L-3 Communications [LLL] has received a $980,560.17 task order from the Transportation Security Administration for services and materials related to the installation and networking of six 3DX 6700 medium-speed eXaminer explosive detection systems at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport. The agency also awarded L-3 a separate task order related to medium-speed EDS systems but did not disclose the value or specify the work to be done.
The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office
has awarded Schafer Corp. a $480,000 two-month contract extension for Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance. The extension runs through July. Schafer’s original contract was for $3.9 million for one year of SETA services.
The Coast Guard has awarded Finmeccanica a contract to provide training services to the initial cadre of members that will fly the service’s newly acquired C-27J medium-range surveillance aircraft. The Coast Guard in 2013 received 14 of the Finmeccanica-built aircraft through a transfer from the Air Force. The value of the award wasn’t disclosed.
GrammaTech, Inc. has received a $1.5 million contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to participate in the agency’s Cyber Grand Challenge. Over 30 teams from around the world will participate in the challenge to develop a security system capable of automatically defending against cyber attacks as soon as they are launched.
