The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office awarded Schafer Corp. a three-month, $501, 203 task order extension to continue providing science, engineering and technical assistance support services. The company is currently working under a potential $5 million Blanket Purchase Agreement the agency awarded in March 2012. DNDO is recompeting the SETA support services.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services awarded the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators a $2.2 million contract for the Records and Information from DMV’s E-Verify (RIDE) program. The AAMVA is the only entity that has access to and the management of the Department of Transportation’s Problem Driver Pointer System infrastructure required to support USCIS in its goal of supporting and expanding the RIDE program. The RIDE program is used by E-Verify to check the validity of driver’s license or jurisdiction issued identification card information.
Russia has given regulatory approval to Implant Sciences Corp.’s [IMSC] QS-B220 desktop explosives trace detector (ETD), clearing the way for the company to sell the systems for various forms of transportation in that country, including aviation, rail and subways. Implant also says that it has received Customs Union Declaration of Conformity certification for the QS-220 and its handheld QS-H150 ETD, allowing it to sell the units to customers in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan for the next five years, subject to U.S. export approval. There is currently a hold by the U.S. government on new export licenses to Russia.
Safran’s MorphoTrak business has appointed Scott Swan as the Senior Director of Innovation for its Criminal Justice and Public Safety Business Unit. Swann most recently served as Special Assistant to the FBI Executive Assistant Director of the bureau’s Science and Technology Branch. Swann has expertise in biometrics and identity solutions.
Booz Allen Hamilton [BAH] has received $223,272 from the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology branch to continue providing Science Engineering and Technical Assistance support to the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency. Booz Allen is the incumbent support contractor and a new contractor is still in the process of staffing up.
