U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is awarding incumbent contractor MorphoTrust a potential six-month contract to continue maintaining 660 TouchPrint 4100 livescan fingerprint capture devices at 138 Application Support Centers. The contract has a three-month base period and three one-month options. The potential value of the extension was redacted. A successor contract has been awarded to MorphoTrak to provide, install, and maintain new livescan equipment to replace existing equipment which is at the end of its lifecycle but difficulties in programming and imaging the new equipment have delayed deployment. MorphoTrak needs up to 11 months to integrate with the USCIS network and fully deploy the 725 LiveScan machines through the U.S. MorphoTrust and MorphoTrak are both part of France’s Safran Group.
Customs and Border Protection has awarded a $1.3 million contract to Rivada Port Graham Solutions to provide an Internet Protocol-based tactical communications network solution that meets the agency’s requirements for the Radio Internet Protocol System and to migrate existing Office of Field Operations and Office of Border Patrol radio systems to the Radio Internet Protocol System. The solution will also interface with CBP’s Air and Marine Operations Center in Riverside, Calif.
Precise Biometrics has received an $114,000 order from the Defense Logistics Agency for its Tactivo smart card readers for use with the iPhone 6. “The interest in Tactivo within the U.S. Department of Defense continues to grow and we are pleased that DLA expands the number of Tactivo users,” says Hakan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics. The order was placed through the company’s partner Carahsoft.
Unisys Corp. has appointed William Searcy to its newly formed Justice, Law Enforcement and Border Security Initiative. Searcy, a 20-year veteran of the FBI, will lead an effort to help governments worldwide detect and counter threats, in particular with the processing of public safety investigations and border traffic, transition IT infrastructure to the cloud, leverage predictive data analytics and used digital government technology to achieve their law enforcement and border security missions.
