The Transportation Security Administration plans to award Stratovan Corp. a contract to expand development efforts following the current Checkpoint Automation proof of concept project. TSA says the contract will increase the Technology Readiness Level of Open Platform Software Library to level 7, allowing OPSL to support 3rd party automated threat recognition algorithm on the Threat Recognition Server while enabling integration with the Common Viewing station.

Customs and Border Protection has awarded Colorado-based Rivertech, LLC a 1.5-month, $196,823 contract extension to continue to provide infrastructure, operations and maintenance services in location where Tactical Communications Systems have been enhanced with technology upgrades as well as increased system coverage capabilities within certain Areas of Responsibilities. The extension gives CBP time to complete a competitive follow-on acquisition through the General Services Administration’s OASIS indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract.

The Department of Homeland Security plans to award a potential one-year, $4 million order to eGlobalTech for continued program management services for the OneNet network, which enables information sharing between DHS components, trade partners and other government agencies to include shared internet, intranet, and extranet services. The order, which has a six-month base and two three-month options, will give DHS time to complete a new competitive acquisition.

The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate has awarded Northeastern Univ. a task order for Enhanced Trace Explosives Detection, and Ambient Desorption Ionization Retrofitted ETD Solution and a Continuous Automatic Non-Contact Sampler Base on Remote Heating. The value of the order wasn’t disclosed. The research effort will develop a contactless explosives sampler and a retrofitted ADI-IS600 and o conduct a feasibility study on explosives vapor detection. The award was made under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement through Northeastern’s status as a Center of Excellence, Center for Awareness and Localization of Explosives-Related Threats.
