Release of RFP for Support to Cyber Command Slips to October
United States Cyber Command now plans to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) in October for its potential $460 million five-year, multiple-award USCYBERCOM Support Contract, a month later than the General Services Administration (GSA) said in August. The RFP for support services for the command and Cyber Mission Force was originally released earlier this year by the Defense Information Systems Agency and then cancelled in May. The pending RFP will consolidate a number of existing task orders used to support Cyber Command. The current work is performed by Booz Allen Hamilton [BAH], CACI International [CACI], LinQuest Corp., Harris Corp. [HRS], and Northrop Grumman [NOC]. Mission support services to Cyber Command under the contract will include business area support and project management, cyberspace operations and planning, all-source intelligence, capability management and development, cyberspace training and exercises, information technology and communications, strategy, policy, doctrine development and campaign assessments, engagement activities, and security. TSA Issues Solicitation for Screening Services at Two California Airports
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued solicitations for screening services at two airports in California, San Francisco International and Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County, under the Screening Partnership Program. For San Francisco, the pending award is for comprehensive screening of passengers and baggage (Sol. CBP Issues RFI for PIV Card Authentication
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to obtain architectural information that provides the agency and the Department of Homeland Security with an implementable solution that will facilitate the authentication and verification of accredited PIV smart cards issued by all government agencies and recognized commercial entities for non-governmental personnel. CBP says the solution should provide minimal modifications to the current information technology environment and provide a highly available process supporting the agency and DHS missions. JPEO Chem Bio Seeks Info on Standoff Chemical Agent Detector
The Joint Program Executive Office (JPEO) for Chemical and Biological Defense has issued a Request for Information from industry on their ability to provide engineering, manufacturing, refurbishment, testing and test support to the Joint Services Lightweight Standoff Chemical Agent Detector (JSLSCAD) Increment 1 product improvement effort. The program office is seeking to enhance the detection capability of the JSLSCAD through a reduced field of view scanner. The enhanced detection scanner will be incorporated into the existing Technical Data Package for Increment 1. The JSLSCAD is a fully automatic, line-of-sight, standoff, passive chemical agent detector that provide real-tie on the move coverage from a variety of land and vehicle platforms at distances of up to 2 kilometers. WHSR, Border Patrol Launch Border Patrol Industry Academy
The Washington Homeland Security Roundtable (WHSR) in collaboration with U.S. Border Patrol is launching the Border Patrol Industry Academy, an in-depth program designed to strengthen industry collaboration and knowledge of the Border Security mission. WHSR will host the inaugural session of the academy in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 14-15. The new program consists of quarter sessions over a one year period that will include border sector tours, training sessions, and a graduation ceremony.
