FAA Issues Call for UAS Detection, Mitigation Technologies

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a call against an existing Broad Agency Announcement for white papers to identify eligible manufacturers, vendors and integrators of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) detection and or mitigation technologies and system’s in support of the agency’s Airport Detection and Mitigation Research Program. The FAA is launching an effort to test and evaluate technologies and systems that detect and mitigate potential aviation safety risks posed by UAS. The effort is directed by the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018. The agency plans to evaluate at least 10 technologies/systems at a civil airport environment, with each system initially being installed at the Atlantic City International Airport, and then at one additional airport in the U.S. Notice ID: 692M15-20-R-0004. CBP Issues RFI for MQ-9 UAS Maintenance and Support

Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Air and Marine Operations has issued a Request for Information to identify potential vendors to provide operational and maintenance support services for the agency’s MQ-9 Predator B/Guardian unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The MQ-9 is a long endurance, medium altitude aircraft that is supplied by General Atomics. The MQ-9s augment crewed air and ground interdiction agents deployed on the southwest and northern borders and complement crewed air and maritime assets and ground interdiction agents on the northern border and southeast border region. TSA Reopens Screening Partnership Program for Bids

The Transportation Security Administration has issued a solicitation for the Screening Partnership Program (SPP) reopener, which is only open to small businesses. The SPP program allows private contractors bid to provide checkpoint and checked baggage screening services instead of TSA at airport that elect to participate. The SPP reopener is an opportunity to add more contractors to the existing indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. And contract awarded will be good through May 31, 2026. DHS S&T Surveys Market for Physiological Monitoring Systems for Responders

The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate, National Urban Security Technology Laboratory has issued a Request for Information on physiological monitoring systems that can be worn by emergency responders and healthcare workers while performing duties in response to various incidents and assignments. The systems would relay data to displays at a remotely located command site during incident responses. DHS to Consolidating Public Safety, Emergency Response Efforts

The Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Emergency Communications Division, Nationwide Governance Branch proposes to contract for support services by consolidating two existing task orders that are performed by Booz Allen Hamilton [BAH] and four new requirements into one consolidated requirement. The two current tasks are National Emergency Communications Plan (NECP) development and publication and public safety telecommunications policy development for nationwide governance, stakeholder engagement and outreach. The new requirements are public safety/emergency communications cyber security, NECP implementation, shared communications systems infrastructure, and next-generation 911 engineering, modeling, testing and implementation.
