DHS Working Plans for In-Development Cloud Services

The Department of Homeland Security in August plans to issue draft requirements and a procurement strategy for its in-development department-wide cloud services to give industry insight into planning and a chance to collaborate with the department. Release of the draft requirements and procurement strategy is expected in mid to late August and will be followed by an industry day in early October and one-on-one engagements in mid to late October. The draft department-wide cloud services requirements include infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service cloud services, software-as-a-service and additional cloud services scoping, DHS says in a late July notice on sam.gov. The notional procurement strategy explores the potential viability of establishing a suite of stand-alone ordering vehicles directly with various cloud service providers and or authorized resellers. DHS isn’t seeking feedback at this time. Contact: Gregory Blaszko, contracting officer, [email protected]
