The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) branch will sponsor an Industry Day on Dec. 19 at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Massachusetts to discuss its funded research in trace explosives signature analysis performed by MIT and the Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center. Air Force Issues RFI for Force Protection Integrated Base Defense
The Air Force, Force Protection Branch is seeking information regarding the acquisition and sustainment of Integrated Base Defense physical security and force protection electronic security systems, equipment, and system integration capabilities. The purpose of the initiative is to learn industry capability to provide, install, upgrade and integrate to the Air Force Security Forces community electronic security intrusion detection systems which provide for a means to deter, anticipate, deny, detect, report, delay, assess, and track hostile and potentially hostile forces and targets for the protection of resources, work environments and personnel. TSA Seeks Host-Based Monitoring and Digital Forensics Software
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a Sources Sought notice for a software tool to monitor and conduct digital forensics at the host-based level. The Information Assurance & Cyber Security Division, Focused Operations, is seeking an enterprise technology that will automate enterprise-wide host-based monitoring. The agency has about 25,000 host nodes in its enterprise. Some of the requirements include the ability to monitor activities through keystroke, attachment, and email monitoring, screenshot capture, the ability to avoid end user detection of the technology, and central collection of captured data. DNDO Plans Industry Day in January
The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) will host an Industry Day on Jan. 23, 2013, to provide prospective vendors, national laboratories, and federal partners an overview of its product acquisition priorities and long-term research and development focus areas as they align to the Global Nuclear Detection Architecture strategy. DNDO representatives will review programs and key challenges as it relates to identifying, researching and developing detection and identification technology for radiological and nuclear threats. DHS Plans Outreach to Veteran-owned Small Businesses
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization will host a vendor outreach session on Nov. 29 for serviced disabled veteran-owned and veteran-owned businesses. The sessions will provide businesses an opportunity to discuss their capabilities and to learn of potential procurement opportunities. USCIS Seeks O&M Support for LiveScan Fingerprint Machines
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has issued a Sources Sought notice seeking operations and maintenance (O&M) support for 660 deployed LiveScan fingerprint devices made by the former L-1 Identity Solutions. The current contractor is NCS Technologies whose task order under the First Source contract is set to expire Feb. 28, 2013. The LiveScan machines are located at 136 Application Support Centers throughout the U.S. and its territories. The machines were installed in 2010 and will have met three years of their five-year life-cycle at the end of the current contract.
