The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) office has issued has issued a solicitation seeking research proposals in the following topic areas: bulk currency vapor detection in confined spaces; software-based roots of trust for enhanced mobile device security; lost person locator for first responders; structural collapse prediction technology; commodity goods counterfeit detection; management of mass casualty triage; affordable non-destructive anomaly detection for perceived hollow spaces; and pre-shot sniper detection in urban environments. TSA Issues RFP for Integrated Logistics Support Services
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Integrated Logistics Services to sustain its transportation security equipment that is deployed at Category X through IV airports and other government-designated facilities throughout the U.S. and its territories. CBP Issues RFI for Vehicle-Mounted Rad Detection Systems
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for current Mobile Vehicle-Mounted Radiation Detection Systems to meet the operational and functional needs of the Laboratories and Scientific Services division of the agency during radiation detection operations. The systems will primarily be used in mobile, moving, and or stationary radiation detection operations for use in wide area searches, general scanning operations, and support of CBP’s operations and mission. Army to Establish Cyber Security Research Alliance
The Army Research Laboratory plans to establish a Cyber Security Collaborative Research Alliance (CRA) that seeks to advance the theoretical foundation of cyber science in the context of Army networks. The CRA will consist of academia, industry and government researchers working jointly to solve complex problems. The overall objective of the CRA is to develop a fundamental understanding of cyber phenomena, including aspects of human attackers, cyber defenders, and end users, so that fundamental laws, theories, and theoretically grounded and empirically validated models can be applied to a broad range of Army domains, applications and environments. DTRA Issues RFI for Technologies for Post-Detonation Nuclear Forensics
The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking sources of potential technologies, processes, and capabilities supporting post-detonation National Technical Nuclear Forensics (NTNF). The NTNF research and development program will provide the U.S. government with an integrated and improved capability to conduct nuclear forensics rapidly in support of the overall national effort to attribute an act of terrorism from the use of nuclear weapons to perpetrators.
