TSA Issues Pre-Solicitation for Credential Authentication Technology
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a pre-solicitation notice for Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) that will help ensure that only legitimate passengers, airport personnel, airline crews, non-traveling passengers with a gate pass and Federal Air Marshals gain access to sterile airport areas. The system must have the capability to assess a wide variety of credentials and display authentication results to Transportation Security Officers. Previously TSA linked CAT with a Boarding Pass Scanning System (BPSS) but the current program doesn’t include BPSS. The agency plans to release a Request for Proposal for CAT this fall. Sol.
