FAA Surveys Market for Northern Border RVSS Test Bed Support
The Federal Aviation Administration is considering awarding Boeing [BA] a contract on a sole source basis for the software maintenance and sustainment of Custom’s and Border Protection’s Northern Border Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) test bed. The work will also include authorization to use Boeing’s Visual Security Operations Console (VSOC) in a non-production environment. The VSOC is a security management platform used as part of the limited RVSS deployment on the Northern Border. DHS S&T Plans BAA on Advanced Trace Detection
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate will host a pre-solicitation conference in October to discuss the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) on Advanced Trace Detection Instrumentation and Methodologies. The conference will he held Oct. 28 in Washington, D.C. The BAA will be divided into four primary components: retrofit of explosive trace detectors (ETDs); desktop ETDs; portable ETDs; and advanced explosive detection tools and methods, including signature analysis and data analytics, advanced contact sampling, and non-contact sampling. This BAA encourages collaboration and teaming between multi-disciplinary research and development organizations to achieve the desired goals. The forthcoming conference relates to technologies presented at the DHS S&T Advanced Trace Detection Instrumentation and Methodologies Industry Days in July and the Request for Information titled Rapid Improvement of Explosive Trace Detection Systems for Air Cargo Screening. TSA Plans RFP for Credential Authentication Technology
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) plans to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) this fall. The CAT system will be used by Transportation Security Officers to assess and authenticate a wide variety of credentials and display the results to the officer. The agency is prepared to release non-SSI redacted draft versions of the Draft RFP, Functional Requirements Document, STIP Interface Requirements Document, and TSE IT Security Requirements document.
