TSA Issues RFI for Checkpoint Technologies and Concepts

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Office of Security Capabilities has issued a Request for Information (RFI) on technologies or concepts that improve the operations, effectiveness or efficiency of airport security checkpoint operations. Potential solutions may consist of equipment, hardware or software that, for example, provides the ability to integrate and improve existing equipment, improve passenger throughput, or provide other new and innovative concepts. The agency is also interested in solutions that increase the capability to defense against threats entering the sterile areas of the airports and or increase passenger comfort throughout the screening process. The categories that TSA is interested in under the RFI include checkpoint operation efficiency, such as automation, innovation and integration, improved passenger experience, remote diagnostics and repair, and real-time threat assessment related to behavior detector or explosives detection canines. CBP Seeks Sources for Arizona Land Mobile Radio Modernization

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a Sources Sought Notice to allow contractors to comment on the agency’s draft requirement under the Tactical Communications Equipment and Services Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract. CBP is considering setting aside the procurement for small businesses. The draft requirement is for land mobile radio site engineering design analysis, the purchase of project equipment and details, land mobile radio site development, site equipment configuration, and system/site installation, integration, and testing for seven sites in the Tucson and Yuma, Ariz., focus areas. DHS Solicits Cyber Centric Mission Support Services

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released the solicitation for Cyber Centric Mission Support Services, which entails the provision of program management, scientific, engineering and technical support services to enhance security, resiliency, and reliability of the nation’s cyber and communications infrastructure. The program, which has two tracks, will support divisions within the DHS National Protection and Programs Directorate, Office of Cybersecurity and Communications (CS&C), including the Office of the Assistant Secretary, the National Cyber Security Division, the National Communications System, the Office of Emergency Communications, and the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center. The two overarching priorities of the CS&C are to build an effective national cyberspace response system; and to implement a cyber risk management program for critical infrastructure protection. TSA Issues RFP for Credential Authentication Technology

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) system, which will ensure that only passengers, airport personnel, affiliated airline crews, non-traveling passengers using a gate pass and Federal Air Marshals gain access to sterile airport areas. The CAT system must have the capability to assess a wide variety of credentials and display the authentication results to the Transportation Security Officer. TSA Plans to Solicit Private Screening Services for Florida Airport

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) plans to solicit private security screening services at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport in Florida. TSA Issues Pre-Solicitation SPP Services for Roswell, N.M. Airport

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a pre-solicitation notice for airport security screening services at Roswell International Air Center in Roswell, N.M. TSA Issues RFI for DHS-Wide ETD Technology

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to facilitate discussion with industry on the Department of Homeland Security’s needs for Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) technology to meet mission requirements. The agency, in partnership with the DHS Office of the Chief Procurement Officer’s Strategic Sourcing Program Office, intents to award Department-wide strategic sourcing contracts to provide ETD systems and associated product support services for all DHS components that have requirements for this technology. TSA currently expects to release a draft Request for Proposal in the third quarter of FY ’14 followed by the issuance of an RFP in the same quarter. A contract award is expected in either the fourth quarter of FY ’14 or the first quarter of FY ’15. DNDO Releases Draft Requirement for Basic Handheld RIID Device

The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) has released a draft requirement for the Basic Handheld Radioisotope Identification Device (RIID) in anticipation of a solicitation for a competitive indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract or contracts.
