CBP Issues RFI for Large-Scale NII Systems
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to generate questions and comments from industry on a draft Statement of Work (SOW) in support of the agency’s large-scale non-intrusive inspection (NII) systems. The SOW, or another version of it, will be used in a potential indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with a one-year base period and four one-year option periods to follow at a later date. DTRA Seeks Sources for Better Understanding Chem/Bio Threat Agents
The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Joint Science and Technology Office of the Chemical and Biological Defense Program has issued a Request for Information to determine the existing infrastructure and personnel resources capable of performing both theoretical and practical hazardous material defense related research, development, test and evaluation. The office’s science and technology programs address basic and applied research and experimental development related to chemical and biological threat agent characterization, medical diagnostic methods and medical pre-treatment and therapeutic countermeasures, and physical decontamination, detection, protection and decision support capabilities. DHS Issues Draft RFP for BioWatch SETA

Navy Division Seeks Body Imagers Using Ionizing Energy
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division is seeking commercial-off-the-shelf systems capable of screening for person born threats at entry access points with technologies employed for detection based on ionizing energy. The systems should be able to detect homemade explosives, improvised explosive devices and component, as well as weapons. Sandia Issues RFI for Handheld Biometric Collection Devices
The Energy Department’s Sandia National Laboratory has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for handheld biometric devices to be tested through National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program accredited test laboratories for the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate’s Human Factors and Behavioral Sciences Division. The lab wants sources capable of providing devices for use by federal, state and local law enforcement and first responders in a range of homeland security missions, including border and maritime security, emergency response, counter-terrorism operations and activities. The products must be able to acquire and match 10 fingerprints, facial and iris images of persons, and communicate directly with homeland security and criminal justice data repositories using wireless technologies.
