CACI International [CACI] recently said it has acquired IDL Solutions, Inc., a small company serving the federal, state and local healthcare information technology (IT) markets.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Wisconsin-based IDL has over 100 employees and its sales last year were about $18.5 million. CACI expects the acquisition to be slightly accretive to its earnings per share in the current year.
IDL provides IT and application development services to include data analytics that healthcare organizations apply to large volumes of data. The company has also achieved the Software Engineering Institute’s CMMI Level 3 assessment.
CACI recently acquired Emergint Technologies which, coupled with the IDL deal, marks a key step in its strategy to build a healthcare IT business. IDL will become part of CACI’s new Federal Civilian Solutions business.
“With our acquisition of IDL Solutions, CACI has specialized capabilities to address the challenges of clients in the federal civilian healthcare and health insurance spaces,” John Mengucci, CACI’s chief operating officer and president of its United States operations, said in a statement. “In particular, IDL Solutions’ expertise in big data will enable us to provide the critical data collection, storage, analysis, and dissemination capabilities that enable healthcare organizations to improve customer service, minimize fraudulent activities, and promote better patient care.”
Some of IDL’s key awards include a prime contractor position on the National Institutes of Health for IT support to its IT Acquisition and Assessment Center, and a prime contractor seat on the Internal Revenue Service’s Management/Business Operations Support Services and Cyber Security suite of contracts.
IDL’s senior management will remain with the company.
