CACI International [CACI] last week said it has agreed to acquire Emergint Technologies, a small healthcare information technology (IT) company that further expands CACI’s capability and presence in this growing market.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Kentucky-based Emergint has experience in health data integration and analysis solutions, data analytics, management and IT consulting, and data and records management. The company’s customers include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the Food and Drug Administration.
Emergint expects to have $42 million in sales this year and CACI expects the deal to be accretive to earnings in the first year after the deal closes, which is expected by Dec. 1.
“The federal government is increasingly requiring high-value solutions to improve healthcare IT practices and systems that will, in turn, contribute to the public health and safety of our nation’s citizens,” Dan Allen, president and CEO of CACI, said in a statement. “CACI’s acquisition of Emergint opens new opportunities in our high-growth healthcare IT market and enables us to serve and evern greater share of the market.”
Emergint has about 300 employees.
