Britain’s Cobham yesterday said it has completed its purchase of satellite communications technologies for $126 million in cash.
The deal, which was first announced in September, has an earn out provision of up to $18 million payable between 2013 and 2014, based on future performance.
California-based Trivec makes satellite communications antennas for communications on the move, including airborne, land-based, shipboard and vehicle-based. Cobham said that Trivec’s products are complementary to its Antenna Systems business.
Cobham expects the deal to be immediately accretive to earnings.
Last month, Cobham announced it has sold its scientific and engineering services subsidiary Sparta to the engineering and construction firm Parsons Corp. following changes by the United States government to its organizational conflict of interest rules (Defense Daily, Oct. 20).
