Britain’s Cobham plc recently said it has secured commitments for more than 90 percent of the shares in the Danish satellite communications firm Thrane & Thrane, putting it on a path to own the entire company.
Earlier, Cobham extended its offer for the remaining shares in Thrane & Thrane that it did not already own. Cobham’s previous offer to shareholders expired on May 21 but the company extended the offer until June 18.
The British company in early April acquired a minority stake in Thrane & Thrane and then a week later offered $428.3 million to acquire the rest of the firm.
Earlier this month Cobham said it had already acquired a controlling interest in Thrane & Thrane. The acquisition will more than double Cobham’s business in the satcom arena.
