OSI Systems Gets $22M Order to Service Inspection Systems

OSI Systems [OSIS] says it has received a $22 million order to provide service, maintenance, and spare parts support for various of its Rapiscan cargo and vehicle inspection systems deployed internationally. The company says the inspection systems are used for border security. The customer wasn’t disclosed.

Black Sage to Provide C-UAS Systems to International Airport

Black Sage Technologies says it has received a multi-million-dollar, multi-year contract to supply counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) and services to a major international airport. Idaho-based Black Sage says it will provide its DefenseOS open architecture command and control software platform that can integrate various sensors to detect, identify, classify, track and defeat drones that threaten the local airspace. Black Sage says it won the contract over bids from “major international aerospace and defense firms.” The company says it has integrated and tested more than 50 C-UAS subsystems with DefenseOS, including cyber-attack, long-range precision jamming, and autonomous command and control capabilities.

Japanese Customs Contracts for Smiths Detection Cargo Inspection Systems

Smiths Detection has received a contract from custom authorities in the port city of Yokohama, Japan, to provide two cargo inspection systems that will screen cargo trucks for narcotics and other prohibited items. Smiths says the systems will be fitted with conveyor technology to improve performance and increase throughput. The systems will be installed in May 2023 at the Honmoku and Sendai Inspection Centers. The specific systems were not disclosed.

Telos Touts New Customers for Aviation Channeling Services

Telos Corp. [TLS] says it has landed a number of new customers that past few months for its Designated Aviation Channeling (DAC) services it provides to airlines and airports in the U.S. to assure the identities of aviation workers through biometrics and enrollment solutions. The new customers are USA Jet Airlines, Advanced Airlines, IFL Group, California Redwood Coast Humboldt County Airport, Advanced Airlines, Back Country Aviation, and ABX Air. Airport customer renewals for DAC services include Albany International, Chicago O’Hare International, Chicago Midway International, Dallas Fort Worth International, Jacksonville International, Phoenix Sky Harbor International, Salt Lake City International, Santa Barbara, St. Pete-Clearwater International, the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation for State Commercial Airports and more, Telos says. “These recent renewals are a testament to the ongoing impact our aviation channeling service has on assuring the identities of aviation workers,” says Dawn Lucini, vice president of aviation security at Telos.
