Air Force Adds Funding to Access Control Project with Paravision

Paravision says it has received an increase in funding under its Air Force Small Business Innovation Research Phase II contract under which the company is developing and delivering a converged identity solution providing physical and logical access control for the service’s Kessel Run development facilities and staff. Paravision received the SBIR award in May 2020 to deploy its face recognition and computer vision technology with Kessel Run. So far, Paravision has provided Kessel Run with a singular biometric across identification and authentication use cases, including physical access control and facility security. Now, the company will build upon the physical logical access, security and management automation (PLASMA) system’s research and development efforts in artificial intelligence and machine learning to meet increasing cybersecurity threats in cyberspace and the physical world. The PLASMA focus areas include expanded analytics capabilities, 2D liveness and anti-spoofing, mobile biometric enrollment, deepfake detection and migration to a cloud-based environment.
