DHS Awards 18 Contracts Under Eagle II
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded 18 contracts under two functional categories of the EAGLE II information technology contract, including seven to small businesses. Under Functional Category 1, which is for a full range of services and solutions in support of developing, implementing and maintaining technology and business functions, DHS selected the following companies for awards under the HubZone small business track: TSsymmetry, Inc.; SI Tech Consulting; Logistics Systems, Inc.; CWS Corporation; ArdentEagle Joint Venture; T-Rex Consulting Corp.; and VariQ Corp. The department also awarded the following companies contracts under unrestricted track within Functional Category 2, which is for IT Program Support Services that provide the full range of business and technical management services in support of DHS offices or programs: Enterprise Information Services, Inc.; Blackstone Technology Group; NetStar 1 Government Consulting, Inc.; DRC Company’s Kadix Systems LLC; ALON, Inc.; Grant Thornton LLP; Avaya Government Solutions; Deloitte Consulting LLP; LMI; BRTRC; and Creative Computing Solutions, Inc. All awards have a five year base ordering period with one two-year option period. EAGLE II has a maximum contract value of $22 billion over the seven year period of performance, which includes all the functional categories.
Elite Protective Services Nabs $19M for Armed Protective Services
The Federal Protective Service has awarded Elite Protective Services an $18.6 million contract to provide armed protective security officer services at six locations in Montgomery County, Md., near Washington, D.C. The contract is a small business set aside.
TSA Awards MDI $13M Task Order for EDS Equipment
Morpho Detection, Inc. (MDI) has received a $12.8 million task order from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for ancillary equipment and networking of medium-speed explosive detection systems (EDS) supplied by the company. The task order was made under a potential five-year, $528 million contract from TSA that MDI announced last fall for medium-speed EDS systems.
Army Awards Smiths Detection $7M for Chemical Detectors
The Army has awarded Smiths Detection a $7 million order for the M4A1 Joint Chemical Agent Detector (JCAD), under the DoD JCAD program. The JCAD system is used to protect troops from chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals. “This order underscores the Department of Defense’s continued commitment to one of the largest, most effective chemical warfare protection projects in the world,” says Lance Roncalli, vice president of Sales for the Americas at Smiths Detection.
Israeli Firm RADWIN Nabs Safe City Video Surveillance Project in Russia
Israel’s RADWIN says it has deployed its wireless broadband system to Nefteyugansk in Siberia as part of a Safe City project. The RADWIN 5000 point-to-multipoint systems were chosen to provide real-time video transmission from high-definition video cameras installed throughout the city back to a central command center. The city required a system that would operate in high interference and severely cold weather. Project design and implementation were managed by Russia’s Teleincom and ROILCOM. The RADWIN 5000 high capacity systems deliver up to 250 megabytes per second and dedicated bandwidth per site.
