Coast Guard Selects Five Firms for Financial Management Services
The Coast Guard has selected AOC Solutions, BearingPoint, Inc. [BE], Grant Thornton, KForce Government Solutions and Pricewaterhouse Coopers to compete for task orders under a potential five-year, $104.8 million Blanket Purchase Agreement for financial management support services. The selections were actually made on May 30 although BearingPoint just disclosed the win. BearingPoint says task orders it garners under the award will allow it to help the Coast Guard with improving internal controls and accountability over financial business processes, strengthening financial reporting policies and procedures, and transforming human resource strategy to improve the service’s financial management workforce. Earlier this year BearingPoint won a financial management services support contract with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) worth up to $47.7 million over five years. The initial value of the ICE award was $8.7 million for one year.
DHS Awards CENTRA $39.8M for Infrastructure Risk Assessment
The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) National Protection Programs Directorate, Office of Infrastructure Protection, has awarded Maine-based CENTRA Technology, Inc. a potential $39.8 million contract to support the Homeland Infrastructure Threat and Risk Analysis Center (HITRAC) Infrastructure Risk Assessment and related programs. Specific tasks include contract management security strategies support, risk integration and analysis support, quick response and transition management. CENTRA has over 350 professionals with backgrounds in national security analysis, the military, homeland security, engineering, research and development, and the social sciences and humanities.
Data Mining International to Get Potential $20M Award from ICE
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Trade Transparency Unit says it plans to award Data Mining International, Inc. (DMI) a potential five-year, $20 million fixed-price contract for operations and maintenance support for the Data Analysis & Research for Trade Transparency System (DARTTS). DMI has the sole proprietary ownership rights to the LEADMiner software used in DARTSS, which is a proprietary ICE system that helps the agency’s Special Agents analyze foreign and domestic trade data and Bank Secrecy Act information. The base year of the contract begins Oct. 1.
DHS Awards Booz Allen $9.3M for Critical Infrastructure Program
The Department of Homeland Security’s National Protection Programs Directorate has awarded Booz Allen Hamilton a $9.3 million contract to provide program management services, training, and communication and outreach support to the Protected Critical Infrastructure Information (PCII) program. The objectives of the project are to provide onsite and offsite support to the Infrastructure Information Collection Division and the PCII Program Office as it develops and implements the PCII program and information collection systems.
Soteria Nabs Potential $3.1M DHS Internet Project Work
The Department of Homeland Security has awarded Maryland-based Soteria Network Technologies, LLC, a potential $3.1 million contract to provide commercial-off-the-shelf products used to sense, aggregate, and visualize global Internet protocol routing data to enable technical studies and analysis under the Internet Path Project. Soteria says it offers network analysis products to enable client operations and a productized virtual environment enabling clients to practice the skills necessary to respond to cyber attacks.
RAE Equips CSTs with Additional AreaRAE Kits under $3M Award
RAE Systems [RAE] has delivered to the National Guard additional AreaRAE wireless Rapid Deployment Kits to equip all 57 Civil Support Teams (CSTs) with portable toxic gas and radiation detection equipment and RAELink 3 portable radio modems under a $3 million contract. The AreaRAE wireless toxic gas and radiation detection systems interface with existing AreaRAE systems already in use by the CSTs and many civilian first responders. The contract marks the second purchase by the National Guard to equip its CSTs with AreaRAE systems.
UAE Awards Face Recognition Contract to CryptoMetrics
CryptoMetrics has received a contract from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Interior to deploy a face-recognition-based wanted person detection system at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The terms and value of the award were not disclosed. The installation is the first phase of an expected nationwide deployment in which CryptoMetrics expects to implement the system at all points of entry to the UAE to detect persons who are wanted or pose a threat to the state. “CryptoMetrics facial recognition technology was chosen as the superior solution from among 18 companies who presented their technology to the UAE,” says Robert Barra, CryptoMetrics CEO. The company says the identification checks will be done at a standoff range without a person’s active participation.
VUANCE in 10-Year Security Contract with European Airport
VUANCE, Ltd. [VUNC], has entered into a 10-year, potential $6.2 million services agreement with a European airport to provide support of an integrated perimeter security and border control system the company is installing for the airport. “This agreement represents our ability and capability to converge our passive and active RFID technologies into a comprehensive and effective solution,” says Eyal Tuchman, CEO of VUANCE.
SPAWAR Plans Follow-On Award to TranSystems for Cargo Security Support
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR), San Diego, plans to award a potential three-year, $1.5 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to TranSystems Corp. to continue work for the Department of Homeland Security’s Cargo Security Program related to transportation, logistics and supply chain consulting. The work to be done was previously handled under several contracts performed by TranSystems and Manalytics International, which has been acquired by TranSystems. The new work will complete an economic analysis of components of the Cargo Security Program and is applicable to future phases of work.
