Cubic Corp. [CUB] is expanding its tactical communications and training capabilities for clients with the acquisition of British antenna manufacturer Deltenna Ltd. in a deal finalized on July 18.
Deltenna will provide its radio and antenna commercial solutions to build on Cubic’s ability to deliver high-capacity data networks and critical communications tools. Since 2002, the Chippenham, United Kingdom-based Deltenna has designed integrated wireless products including compact Long-Term Evolution (LTE) base stations, broadband range extenders and rugged antennas for communication in areas with previously poor coverage opportunities.
“With Deltenna, we will strengthen our capability of developing and integrating products that will change the way our military forces communicate, train and operate,” Cubic President and CEO Bradley H. Feldmann said in a statement.
Cubic Corp. aims to take advantage of Deltenna’s expertise in building specialized applications of wireless communication tools designed for emergency response teams and fully integrated LTE solutions for warfighters. Deltenna is known for their light rugged antennas that utilize LTE technology to deliver fast data rates and ease of deployment in emergency situations.
“Deltenna has some patented technology that will help Cubic deliver next generation of training solutions via cost effective LTE solutions,” Director of Corporate Communications for Cubic Laura Chon told sister publication Defense Daily. “Deltenna and its products will not only help in the training communications of our Cubic Global Defense business, but can be incorporated into Cubic’s other business divisions including Cubic Mission Solutions and Cubic Transportation Systems.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
