DHS Counter WMD Chief Plans To Replace BioWatch With Nationwide Sensor Network

The chief of the Department of Homeland Security’s new office that oversees development, acquisition and deployment of much of the nation’s sensors and networks for detecting weapons of mass destruction is planning to begin replacing the national biological threat detection system called BioWatch with a widely deployed network of sensors that can help authorities more rapidly detect, identify and react to a potential incident.It takes a day now for the relevant authorities to know that deadly pathogen may have been…
