The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate, Chemical Biological Division, has issued a Broad Agency Announcement seeks technologies in support of the Bioforensics Research and Development program to achieve a number of goals, including: determine the maturity of ultra-high throughput next generation sequencing technologies in finding rare variants in forensic bacterial samples; develop methods to improve dry collection and extraction of forensic samples; develop forensic genotyping methods for select agent viruses; and determine the dynamics of mobile elements in bacterial select agents.
