The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) has issued a Request for Information to manufacturers interested in supplying commercially available gamma-ray and neutron detection systems for an upcoming test campaign–named Crawdad–focusing on technical performance in a maritime environment. The devices are intended to be mobile and would be used on or in a small boat, which is about 25-feet long. DNDO will not accept pager, personal radiation detector, handheld radioisotope identifiers, or backpack type radiation detection systems for this event. The systems would be operated by an independent team and the test results made available to interested government officials. DNDO expects to test five to six systems. The agency plans to notify selectees by April 4. Sol. No. Maritime-RadNucCots. Respond by March 20. Contact: Joseph Ohene, contract specialist, 202-254-7088, [email protected].
