Douglas Wiltsie on Oct. 5 assumed leadership of Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) from Terry Watson in a Change of Charter ceremony presided over by Heidi Shyu, acting Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics & Technology).
Terry Watson has served as Acting PEO EIS since May 2011 and will return to her previous position as Deputy PEO EIS.
Before his assignment as PEO EIS, Wiltsie served as the deputy Program Executive Officer for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors (DPEO IEW&S), responsible for the development, acquisition, fielding, and life cycle support of the Army’s portfolio of intelligence, electronic warfare, and target acquisition programs.
Wiltsie said, “Enterprise Information Systems is one of the greatest opportunities I could ever ask for. I am excited about being here and becoming part of such a great team. [PEO EIS’] history of providing capability to soldiers is well known, and I know we will continue with that superior support.”
PEO EIS develops, acquires, integrates, and deploys network-centric knowledge-based information technology and business management systems, communications, and infrastructure solutions through leveraged commercial and enterprise capabilities for joint and Army war fighters.
Wiltsie said the PEO provides capability to the Army: “The success of the Army depends on the ‘basics,’ and one of those basics is the ability to communicate. The capabilities we provide with information technology are vast, and provide for the success of our Army. From the long haul communications, to the ERP programs, to Biometrics identity dominance–every one of these systems impacts our soldiers, and our ability to provide products on time is critical to their mission.”
