The Pentagon’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) Nuclear Technologies Directorate will host an Industry Day on Dec. 4, at Fort Belvoir, Va., to discuss the future direction of its technology development programs to fill key technology gaps. The directorate’s mission is to research, develop and demonstrate technologies and capabilities to mitigate the threat and or effects of nuclear and radiological events, and to enhance the safety, security, survivability, and performance of U.S. nuclear assets and facilities. The topical sessions include nuclear detection, nuclear survivability, modeling and simulation nuclear weapons effects, radiation hardening of microelectronics, nuclear forensics, and disablement of nuclear weapons.
