The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is soliciting white papers to integrate selectable passive and non-passive metal detection technology into a single unit or instrument that is currently made or can easily be constructed. The instrument should weigh less than 2.5 pounds, be one-man portable, and be able to detect very small amounts of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The detector should be sensitive enough to detect solid state electronic components and assembled circuit boards from single or multiple sources such as packages, bags, walls, floors and different soil types with a minimum of two to three inch standoff. Detection and response should be quick and precise. Sol. No. CSC080008213. Respond by May 22. Contact: Daniel Vola, contracting officer, 703-767-7943, [email protected].
