The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. (EADS) yesterday said that Sean O’Keefe, who leads the company’s North American division as CEO, is also now the chairman of the business.

O’Keefe succeeds Ralph Crosby, who has retired. O’Keefe added the chairman job at EADS North America on Jan. 1, EADS said. He became CEO in Nov. 2009.

O’Keefe praised Crosby’s nearly decade-long leadership at EADS North America for expanding its product portfolio and brand recognition in the United States as well as its work on the Army’s UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopter for being within budget and on schedule.
