The Israeli Ministry of Defense awarded Elbit Systems [ESLT] about $117 million for the supple of Command, Control, Computer, Communications, and Intelligence (C4I) systems, the company said on Jan. 15.
Elbit is to develop the next generation of Digital Army Project (DAP), a master program that computerizes operations in the land forces and connects all field and command echelons to a central transfer network. It will also develop, upgrade, and supply communications systems and wide band radio systems. The company said it will provide the logistical support and maintenance for the communications systems.
“The new contracts attest to the customer’s satisfaction from our systems’ past performance. Being awarded contracts for next generation DAP and communications systems, based on advanced Command and Control and communications capabilities, further strengthens our position as world leaders in this field,” Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems, said in a statement.
Most of the contracts are to be performed over a six-year period.
