Elbit Systems [ESLT] was selected to deliver live combat training system and equipment to Poland’s Special Operations Forces (SOF), the company said Nov. 9.

The equipment, the Combat Training System (CTS), is being provided in cooperation with RUAG Defense of Switzerland and Autocomp Management Ltd. of Poland.

CTS is an advanced realistic simulations-based trainer specifically designed for use by Marines and SOF, varying from single soldiers to full-size units. The system can simulate a wide range of operational conditions and real-world elements, including those from urban, rural, and indoor settings, Elbit said.

Under this contract Elbit and its partners are to deliver live-fire training suites for warriors, vehicles, and vessels; simulation equipment for use in training facilities; inert explosives (simulants); gradandes; and suicide bomber kits. The delivery will also provide Digital Video Recording (DVR) and data-link capabilities that enable network training to and from centralized management controls, across all training forces and equipment, Elbit said. This makes it possible to record, monitor, and post-analyze the training process.

“By combining cutting-edge simulation and live-fire training systems, CTS provides an ability to carry out ‘train-as-you-fight’ force-on-force exercises in realistic combat scenarios,” the company said in a statement.

CTS can also help train command and control battle management skills as well as review, assess, and improve trainee decision-making processes during and after exercises.

“Elbit’s CTS was chosen, among many competitors, due to its superior performance and reliability. We are very proud to partner with RUAG Defence and Autocomp Management Ltd. in this project, and hope that it will further strengthen our cooperation in the field of land-based training and simulation, both in the region and beyond,” Yoram Shmuely, general manager of Elbit Systems’ aerospace division, added.
