The engineering and services firm Electronic Consulting Services Inc. (ECS) last month acquired OAK Management, boosting its capabilities in the federal maritime sector.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ECS serves a range of federal civilian agencies with engineering and information technology solutions. OAK is a professional services firm focused on providing specialized maritime consulting, naval engineering, marine environmental services and ship systems software development services primarily to the Navy and National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration. OAK also provides services to the Military Sealift Command.
“ECS will continue to acquire well run businesses of matching corporate cultures, with outstanding past performance and with well established customer positions outside of ECS’ customer markets,” George Wilson, chief strategy officer for ECS, said in a statement. “We are looking to acquire companies to expand our markets, add new professional skills, and add experienced leaders who are motivated to join us as we reach our strategic goals.”
ECS has annual sales approaching $150 million and nearly 1,000 employees. ECS and OAK are both based in Northern Virginia.
The McLean Group served as OAK’s financial adviser on the deal.
