Strengthening her focus on capturing more business, Engility Corp. [EGL] CEO Lynn Dugle has hired former Lockheed Martin [LMT] government relations vice president Michael Grasso to oversee Engility’s business development efforts.
Engility said that Grasso has been appointed vice president for Business Development and Strategic Planning and will report directly to Dugle, who joined the company in March, a year after retiring from Raytheon [RTN] where she spent her last six years there leading the Intelligence, Information and Services segment. Grasso’s position is a new one at Engility.
Grasso has been senior vice president of Government Relations at Lockheed Martin since 2011. Before that, he spent more than two years as vice president of the $4 billion civil business area of Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems & Global Solutions segment, which was acquired by Leidos [LDOS] last week. Grasso, who spent 35 years at Lockheed Martin, also was vice president for Business Development at the company’s Aeronautics Global Sustainment business.
“Mike has an impressive track record of winning significant programs and growing businesses across diverse markets, including defense, federal civilian agencies and the intelligence community,” Dugle said in a statement. “As an accomplished industry veteran and member of our senior leadership team, Mike will play a strategic role in positioning Engility of future growth and continued success.”
One of Dugle’s focus areas is business capture and generating bookings to include winning larger contracts and taking business from competitors. Driving sustainable organic growth is a key objective of Dugle’s.
